About PlusEight

The real pain with remote work isn't whether a job is remote — it's whether the timezones can actually work together. PlusEight only lists remote jobs where you can keep normal hours and still overlap enough with the team, aimed at engineers, product managers and designers living between UTC+7 and UTC+9.

Where the data comes from

Once a day, a scheduled script pulls the public job APIs that companies on our seed list already expose through Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and SmartRecruiters. Rules then filter for "remote + GMT+8 compatible + software / product / design". There is no manual review — when a rule is wrong, we fix the rule.

We don't bypass logins, don't defeat rate limits, and identify our bot by User-Agent. Every job's canonical link points back to the company's original posting. This is a referral aggregator, not an official source. If a company wants its listings removed, email hj.handstar@gmail.com and we'll do it.

How the timezone call works

yes = the posting explicitly welcomes APAC / global applicants. likely = the posting states no regional restriction and the company hires globally remote. Anything mentioning "US only", "EMEA only", "overlap with PST" and similar is dropped. We'd rather miss a good job than send you to one that turns out to be US-only.

Frequently asked questions

What is PlusEight?

PlusEight is a job board that only lists remote software, product and design jobs which overlap with GMT+8 (UTC+8) working hours — the timezone shared by Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, China and Western Australia. It currently tracks about 379 open roles across 27 companies and refreshes daily.

Where do the job listings come from?

A scheduled script pulls the public job-board APIs that companies already expose through Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and SmartRecruiters. Nothing is scraped from behind a login, no rate limits are bypassed, and the bot identifies itself by User-Agent. Every listing links back to the company's original posting via a canonical URL.

How does PlusEight decide a job is GMT+8 friendly?

Each posting is scored "yes", "likely" or rejected. "Yes" means the posting explicitly welcomes APAC or global applicants. "Likely" means it states no regional restriction and the company hires globally remote. Anything that names a US, EMEA, Canada or Latin-America-only requirement, or asks for overlap with a Western timezone, is dropped. The check is deliberately conservative: it would rather miss a good job than send you to one that turns out to be US-only.

Is PlusEight free? Do I need an account?

It is free and there are no accounts. You cannot apply through PlusEight — every job links out to the company's own application page. The only thing you can sign up for is the weekly email digest.

How often is it updated?

Once a day. The listing was last refreshed on 2026-09-03. New jobs are marked and also collected into a weekly Sunday email.

Which roles are covered?

Software engineering, product management and product / UX / UI design. Sales, recruiting, support and customer-success roles are filtered out even when their titles contain words like "engineer".
